  • Eyeglasses

    • Prescription reading glasses
    • Bifocals: for distance and near vision correction
    • Progressive multifocals: see objects at a near, intermediate or far distance

  • Contact lenses

    • Bifocal contact lenses: different sections for reading and distance prescriptions
    • Monovision contact lenses: distance prescription in one eye and reading prescription in the other eye

Shawnette was amazing! Had all of my information ready to go, got me in right away after showing up ... early, and was patient while I picked out my glasses. During our conversation, she told me she was newer to the company. It seems like she's been there for years and this company is so lucky to have someone like her representing the brand! I am updating my last review after my most recent exam - they are still a great place and I recommen... d them again. I have gone to Eyes of Mendota for frames and lenses for 5 years. I have gone for exams for the past two years. The staff is professional and answers all questions. I recommend them without reservation.

I went to Eyes of Mendota 2 years ago under the previous ownership and management and it was terribl... e. Truly. Had no intention of ever going back. Then I got a call from the new staff earlier this year informing me of new ownership and management. Decided to give it another try because the location was convenient to my workplace. LOVED IT. So glad I did! The optician was so personable and great and found something that 10 years of other opticians did not! The staff there was so sweet and helpful and made me feel valued which is a rare trait these days as customer service is a dying art. I am so glad I gave them another try! One of the best eye appointments I have had in years!

How do I know if I have presbyopia?

If you’re over 40 and struggle with any of the following, you may have presbyopia.

  • Holding a book or a screen at arm’s length to see it more clearly
  • Needing larger print or font size to read
  • Blurry vision while reading
  • Difficulty reading in dim light
  • Eye strain and headaches when focusing on near objects

Are bifocals right for me?

If it’s hard for you to read and to see things at a distance, bifocals may be your perfect solution. With bifocals, you can get two prescriptions in one.
